In the heart of Mjaher Dabri Tea Estate in Alipurduar, where the majority of villagers are engaged in tea garden work and daily wage activities, education has traditionally taken a backseat. With low literacy rates and a significant number of students dropping out after primary school, the community faced a persistent cycle of poverty and limited opportunities.

Recognizing this challenge, DAMRI introduced a School Retention Program to inspire a culture of education and ensure continued learning for children in the community. Through the establishment of community-based learning centers, the program supports the holistic development of students by offering curricular and co-curricular activities such as yoga, drawing, sports, and recitation.
